TECHNOLOGY VS DESIGN
Technology, parametric modeling in creative design, and practice in the pavilion.
understanding threshold and circulation.
Secret Rosedale is a pure white pavilion that indicates the holy and pure character of the pavilion. Like the wedding, it evoked the calmness and purity, and romance of the space.
The pavilion is sunken, hidden inside the land, it is a secret place, only you came into it and the whole site will reveal in front.
The shape is a blooming white rose, all about romantic and secret mystery. It celebrates the shadow created by the hollow frame skin. The sharp skin frame is contrasted with curved linear pavilion shape, to show its graciousness and inviolability. In the skin, the lower part is more closed to provide privacy, while the upper parts are more hollow, utill the dome in the top, to show the shadow as well as connect with the sky.
The main pavilion is composed of 3 spheres, the middle one is the pavilion centre for seminar and quartet performance, the other two on both sides is pointing to the direction of pathways, and also they are smaller than the middle one, working as transitional zone and provide supplementary sitting space.
The pavilion is made from 4mm thick steel sheets welded together in-site. The landscape sits are made from concrete, they then painted with white matte paints.

Understand how to achieve those ideas in a rational way. this subject taught me:
Relate building manufacturing and assembly principles to diverse small to medium-scale construction projects; Familiarise yourself with conventions and challenges of technical representations; Appreciate both the relationship and the distance between building conception and building implementation; Transform this appreciation into an interpretative framework for the organization of small to medium-scale architectural practice.

At the beginning of the first semester in Alchemy, we explored through the different patterns can be achieved by simple bricks, the outcome is dazzling and suggestive.

Mapping of The Infinite Library.
When I was young, the library is like a building of blackhole, it's like a sea of knowledge and all the unknown stuff to explore. We are trapped in 3-dimention world, but the library is ifinite, because it can across the time base, brings knowledge and story from 5000 years ago and image what going to happen in the future. It can cross the space, tell you the things happening on the other half the the world, no matter they are on the land, under the sea, or flying in the sky. It can cross the identity and age, everyone has the rights to access and get things they want to know. It has ifinite time, ifnite space, infinate cognitive, which makes the library has infinite possibilities.
The Infinite Library
Exploring the infinite multi-universe through the library, finding the relationshop of circulation, shape and space within the 'idea'.
The main theme is the infinity of the library, enbrace with every possibilities, like an “multiverse” that happening together at same time.
The library is an epitome of city with unlimited time, space and identity. from past to future, from sky to underwater, from children to elders. Which indicates the centry changes is inside the library, the library contains every thing from the Great Apes to the future. That is happend in different “parallel universe”, the best thing is the parallel universe is full of uncertainty, so exploring the infinite library can immerse in finding differnent “universe”.
the uncertainty of the building make it fun to explore, the building will come across from sky to underwater, with road that lead you to unknown space, each space is an surprise journey waiting for visiting. The space has outside and inside as well, ouside space is more nature and inside space is more immerse.
